Here are the enemies you'll come to encounter in Quake 4, whether the Strogg or something that reeks with novelty, they certainly make their reappearances from Quake II, new and improved, you could say.

Description:

BerserkerThe first enemy you'll come to encounter in Quake 4, these familiar Strogg foes from Quake II still prove to be quite a lethal enemy. Armed with both long range and melee attacks, that being an energy blade and a mace, if you're not careful,
they're bound to do you in for good within no time. Either a shotgun, machinegun, rocket launcher, or grenade laucher, depending on whether they're in packs or not or whether you encounter them in confined or spread out combat quarters, will serve you well against them.

Failed Transfer
Reminiscent of the zombies found in DOOM 3, they aren't much of a threat and are quite cinchy to take down. They're usually armed with nothing more than a mere wrench, and sometimes will arrive in pairs. They're slow, dumbfounded, and pretty much useless.

Gladiator
This is one tough foe that you don't want to mess with, as they also happen to wield a railgun and are sturdy enough to last a very long slug out. A nailgun, hyperblaster, or rocket launcher is ideal to use against them as they are all capable of penetrating the Gladiator's shields.

GruntOne of the most agitating enemies in Quake 4, these nuances are quick to wind you up, although shouldn't be too much of a problem once they aren't closing in on you. A shotgun will prove a handy weapon against them, especially when they lunge out at you.

Enemy Name:
Description:

Gunner
These are essentially Berserkers who jump at the chance of causing their attacks to be more brutal and have much greater firepower, so keep a prudent eye out for them.

Iron Maiden
These aerial Stroggs are also very brutal, armed with an energy blade and a rocket launcher. Not only that, but they're agile and are willing to bring upon yet another disadvantage with their audibly excruciating scream. Either the nailgun, lightning gun, or hyperblaster at close/medium range would be a wise weapon of choice against these formidable opponents.

Scientist
An airborne Strogg that had a diverse range of attacks and tends to be armed with either needle or an irritating poison grenade (lowering your health points 1/1 per/second). They are scientists, after all.

Sentry
Yet another aerial bound Strogg, but these are ultimately defense sentries that are easy to dispense of, but have amazing speed. They usually just carry blasters, and can be taken out with either a shotgun (close combat quarters) or railgun (vice versa, apparently).

Strogg Marine
Reluctant mutuated marines, your marines, that is, who were originally part of your Rhino Squad, are now Strogg. Possessing eithier a blaster, shotgun, or machinegun, a rocket launcher or pair of grenades will most likely suffice in finishing them off. They have a tendency of dodging your attacks to an annoying extent, whether by long, medium, or close means of range.

Tactical Transfer
As the name makes obvious, these Stroggified marines are tactical in their stragedy against you with a high amount of health and will wield either a blaster, shotgun, machinegun, hyperblaster, or railgun. Again, either a rocket launcher or grenade will succeed in doing away with them.

Heavy Hovertank
Yes, yet another aerail Strogg. This time in the form of a bulky tank, who are extremely tough and can easily dodge long-winded attacks. They will either whisk away automatically homing rockets with splash damage or just a plasma blaster. Also, be sure to take note that their rockets can be destroyed while in motion by using either a hyperblaster or any orther rapid-firing weapon.

Stream Protector
Part of the gang of 'mini-bosses', these enemies either will stomp you out with their melee attacks or will launch homing rockets and balls of plasma. Any rapid firing gun, the grande launcher, the rocket launcher, or the railgun would be your apt choice of weapon against them here.

Light Tank
A condensed version of the Heayv Hovertank, these Strogg are armed with both a mace and flamethrower, they can also spit out fireballs. Either a hyperblaster, nailgun, or rocket launcher is sufficient in obliterating them.

Teleporter Dropper
One of the most cogently dangerous enemies in the game, these bulldogs are capable of spawning other Stroggs and can do some grave damage if you're not careful with them.

Enemy Name:
Description:
|
Harvester
Another one of the 'mini-bosses', these mechanical arachnid monsters are able to unrelentlessly fire baleful loads of rockets, but their rockets can be destroyed with the Hover Tank's machine gun. Onthe other hand, a rocket launcher would prove the ideal choice of weaponary in circumstances where posed against them.

Enemy Name:
Description:
|
Turret
Not precisely a Strogg classified enemy, these turrets were obviously built by the Strogg though and are only purely synthetic and mechanical. They usually arrive either by being dropped in by Strogg aircrafts or while you're in a Tank or in a Walker. Their only attack is to shoot blaster projectiles at you, apparently. So they're no real influential threat, unless they happen to luckily catch you off guard, of course.
